Cartoon Network Canadian Episode Change
[edit]I figure it might be noted that the episode premiered on Saturday October 6th was "So Long and Thanks for all the Smoothies" rather then the listed in US and on Canadian Television Guides "Trouble Helix". Not sure the reason but schedule changes between countries have been known to happen. So technically "So Long..." first premiered on Canadian Television today, and is not vandalism. Poor formatting but not vandalism. — Preceding unsigned comment added by HVulpes (talk • contribs)
The name of episodes 9 and 10
[edit]Hi. On the TV schedule of CN Bulgaria for november 2012 write that the name of episodes 9 and 10 are "Many Happy Returns" and "Gone Fishin?". Every new Ben 10: Omniverse episode arrives on Bulgaria 2 days later, from America. So if the premiere of one episode in Amerika is on 10 November the TV premiere of this too episode in Bulgaria is on 12 November. And if you check the programme of CN Bulgaria from this site on 12 and 19 noveber at 18:30pm you will see the names of this episodes. The programme of this site is fully correct with the original. --Iordan2000 (talk) 21:47, 5 November 2012 (UTC)
Season ending with episode 10
[edit]Some editors have been asserting without references that episode 10 is the end of season 1 and episode 11 is the start of season 2. Without any references to back this up, this appears to be non-sensical for a season to end after only 10 episodes and a new season to start the very next week. Normally there is an announcement or a press release that gives season renewal and premiere dates. Also there is generally a significant gap in time between two seasons. The Futon Critic list of episodes at [1] shows nothing that would indicate a season transition. I am trying to understand why editors keep insisting that there is a season transition here. A link to a reliable source would be most appreciated and, if this is real, fairly easy to obtain. Geraldo Perez (talk) 18:24, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
- The other authors of the Bulgarian article were finding on the web that each season has 10 episodes, except season 4, which has 20 episodes. I am not very sure, but I think that was an interview with one of the creators. This author lost the reference, but I left the information. I know it does not match the rules, but I am shure. I will ask this author one more time and if he do not give me a reference I will delete the information. --Iordan2000 (talk) 18:34, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks, that would be most helpful. I would like to see the reference (and check if it meets WP:RS) and see what was actually stated. There might be other ways to read what they said. I doubt they talked about seasons as normally understood for wiki articles, and more likely talked to major story arcs that start and end after 10 or 20 episodes. If that is the case it should be pretty easy to structure the article to reflect that by putting breaks in the table and updating the episode descriptions to identify the start and finish of a story arc. I'm resistant to calling them "seasons", however, without a somewhat official statement from "Cartoon Network" as the networks are generally the ones who say what a season is or isn't. Geraldo Perez (talk) 19:19, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
- I think the references that were used were
- which supports an initial order of 40 episodes and a final order of 60. Wyatt was asked "If each season is 10 episodes, how many seasons have been planned out so far?" and replied "4". This answer supports 40 but the question was conditional and Wyatt did not directly support in this answer the "If each season is 10 episodes". The second reference he was asked "So, Omniverse will have 60 episodes ?" and answered "So far". It is possible that the show creators planned multiple seasons of 10 or so episodes although the references above didn't directly say that. However, a broadcast season is defined by the broadcast network, Cartoon Network, and they can choose to package their season any way they wish. So far Futon Critic and TV Guide are showing season 1 up to episode 11, see:
- "Episode listings". The Futon Critic. and
- "Ben 10: Omniverse Episodes". TV Guide.
- And those two are very good reliable sources for broadcast information. Geraldo Perez (talk) 22:18, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
- Ok. But how can you be sure that The Futon Critic and TV Guide doesn't make their bills? I wrote on Mr. DerrickJWyatt message in the form of a question. I do not think that your sources have accurate information from him. --Iordan2000 (talk) 15:42, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
- Futon Critic and TV Guide meet all the requirements of WP:RS and are a trusted and fairly accurate (nothing is perfect) guide to what has been and what is scheduled to be broadcast in the US. They both get their information directly from the TV networks. They are both used as references in a lot of TV articles. They are both some of the best sources available for this type of info.
- Wyatt wrote in response to your question at http://www.formspring.me/DerrickJWyatt/q/393211601919959547:
- "So far, Omniverse has 60 episodes. For story purposes we have broken this down to 6 arcs of 10 episodes each. I'm not sure how they will be broken down into seasons."
- Wyatt wrote in response to your question at http://www.formspring.me/DerrickJWyatt/q/393211601919959547:
- This pretty much corresponds to my presumption. An arc is basically a set of episodes that tell a complete story with a beginning, a sequence of related events, and a conclusion to that story. Wyatt also stated he has no knowledge of how the stories will be broken into seasons and this is normal as the production people don't define seasons, the networks do.
- Wyatt also wrote:
- In production order, Of Predators and Prey are episodes 9 and 10. Episode 11 is Many happy Returns (this would be the first episode of the second arc). Episode 12 is Gone Fishin', Outbreak is 13, and Blukic & Driba go to Mr. Smothy's is 14."
- It looks like Cartoon Network in the US is showing the episodes out of order as "Outbreak" is currently scheduled to be shown as ep 11. This is unfortunate as this breaks the story sequence for the second arc. Geraldo Perez (talk) 16:38, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
- Wyatt also wrote:
- Based on above discussion I've broken the list at ep 10 and tentatively labeled each section as "Arc 1" and "Arc 2". These names can be changed to something else if it make more sense to do so. Geraldo Perez (talk) 17:22, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
- I have no idea how we can replace them. In fact, the literal translation of the Bulgarian arc means rainbow. --Iordan2000 (talk) 18:27, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
- "Arc" is a short version of "Story arc". A good description is at Story arc (also at bg:Сюжетна арка). Geraldo Perez (talk) 19:31, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks :) --Iordan2000 (talk) 20:33, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
Derrick J Wyatt at formspring as reference
[edit]Derrick J Wyatt at formspring – http://www.formspring.me/DerrickJWyatt – is attached to the show and his account is pretty well vetted as real. Comments he makes and referenced directly to him look to meet the requirements of WP:RS. I have removed some references from the article that stated they come from Wyatt but were actually messages or questions to him, not from him. If Wyatt didn't either directly state something or unambiguously confirm as true some other person's comments, it is not reliable and can't be used in Wikipedia. Wrong Episode Order
[edit]I understand that the episodes are listed as so they take place in the proper production and chronological order as regarding the story of the series, but this does not correspond to as how the episodes were aired and therefore is inconsistent with nearly all other representations of the episode order. Using the production codes should be enough to display to users the proper order in which the episodes take place, but listing the episodes in a series of how they had not aired is nothing short of erroneous. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.175.110.83 (talk) 07:13, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
- I agree, episodes should be in broadcast order. iTunes is selling the episodes in 10 episode chunks that reflect what should be in this article although they call the chunks "Volumes" instead of "Arcs". See https://itunes.apple.com/us/tv-season/ben-10-omniverse-vol.-1/id548694698 and related. Geraldo Perez (talk) 15:10, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
Wrong Production Numbers
[edit]Someone fixed the episode order, but neglected the production numbers. Link3710 (talk) 18:52, 20 July 2013 (UTC)
Story arc issues/corrections
[edit]There seem to be issues with the story arc sequencing. I'm looking at the third arc, specifically.
According to the current listing, "Showdown" is part of arc 3, yet it is about Malware attacking Galvin/Azmuth; that should place it in arc 2.
Potential episodes from arc to that should belong in arc 3: Bro's in space (an attack on Revonnah), potentially complementing "While you were away" (another attack on Reconnah). There is plenty of filler in arc 2 that could be moved.
"Frogs of War" ends with Ben and company ending the Incursean threat, so it probably should be the arc ender, not mid-arc.
I recognize that Cartoon Network aired the episodes out of order originally. The question of story order isn't quite the same as the question of production order, nor airing order; I have no idea where to get official confirmation of story / plotline design.

[edit]@Geraldo Perez: Concerning this edit... What do you mean by "it was correct as it was"? MOS:TVOVERVIEW very clearly states Home media releases do not belong in the series overview tables.
That was my main issue. Now, comparing this overview and this one, the only observable different is that home media column removal. What was "correct"? Was it the wikicode formatting? Is this better than this? The parameters are a mess. What's the order to them? -- /Alex/21 06:49, 24 April 2020 (UTC)

- Do what you think best. I actually have little interest in this article, just noticed a change from what was long established. Geraldo Perez (talk) 16:24, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
